What is Direct Routing?

Direct Routing allows you to connect Microsoft Teams to a range of telephony providers. This means being able to take advantage of cheaper call rates, more flexibility and better support.

Direct routing is seen as extremely attractive by a variety of businesses as it gives them the true flexibility of choosing their own telephony provider, but as direct routing is through certified Microsoft Partners, retain a verified integration with the Teams platform.

What Office 365 license do you need to access Direct Routing?

E3 + Phone System module or E5 as this comes with Phone System as part of the bundled package. Once you have the appropriate 0365 licence you simply need to add Direct Routing from V12.

Can Direct Routing accommodate analogue devices?

Yes. If you have analogue devices such as lift phones, these devices can be connected to Teams and Phone System via Direct Routing. Call traffic between analogue devices and Teams users stays within the organization.
