Accumulating so many years of experience in the IT services and networking industry, like all things in life hasn’t been without its trials and tribulations but it’s also been marked by many great successes as well. So without further ado, we’re taking a little look back over the high points of James’ career so far…
The biggest milestone for James undoubtedly came along in 2015 when he bought back the networks business he set up in 2009 from its parent company, taking Gareth Leece and Steve Sutcliffe with him and re-launched as a stand-alone IT, cyber, networks, security and electrical business - the new Dynamic Networks brand was born that same year. Entrepreneur Matthew Briggs soon saw potential in the start-up company and came on board as a Non-Executive Director.
Later that same year Dynamic Networks made its very first acquisition
, bringing on board key skills and taking our team of 3 to an impressive 11. It was an acquisition that James personally oversaw and engineered and it marked a key moment in Dynamic Networks’ history. The effort was well worth it though and it even helped earn James his position on the shortlist for the 2016 BQ Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year
Shortly after this acquisition and award nomination, throughout the rest of 2016, the number of new, high profile clients working with Dynamic Networks started to climb. The long-standing Leeds restaurant Bibis Italianissimo
joined the client list as well as Sheffield engineering firm William Cook Cast Products, Leeds based decorative panel products business Lawcris and Broadley Group with the prestigious Q One and Q Two buildings
in Leeds City Centre.
As well as taking on more and more client work, the business also took the opportunity to do some charitable work as well. Dynamic Networks became one of thirty local businesses directly supporting invaluable community initiatives by joining the ‘Friends of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation
’. Then later in the same year the team offered businesses access to comprehensive network security testing at a reduced rate, in exchange for donations to charity.
2017 was an equally busy year for James and the team at Dynamic Networks. With so many new clients, new staff and new partnerships, it was time for a new look. The Dynamic Networks brand and website got a little bit of a refresh
in the summer of 2017 and the result is the trend-setting website you see today. James deliberately turned his back on the corporate greys and blues synonymous with other companies in the industry for this new look and instead embraced the bold, colourful hues of the established Dynamic Networks logo. This propelled the company into a new arena, better reflecting the creativity and innovation the team is known for among their clients.
With growing offices to staff, getting the right talent into the business was always going to be a problem. Part of the solution in 2018 came when James revealed his plan to tackle the issue, announcing his intention to double the number of apprentices
within the business over the course of 2018. This initiative in particular is one that James feels really strongly about and it’s one of the highlights of his time heading up Dynamic Networks; providing in-house training and mentoring is at the heart of the Dynamic Working Smarter ethos.
Last but by no means least are the most recent successes. Earlier this year Dynamic Networks was nominated for not one, not two, but three awards
, underlining the successes of the previous two years. And even as we speak, James is working on an exciting new chapter in the history of Dynamic Networks…but we’ll tell you more about those particular developments a little later on. Watch this space.
