In the spotlight - Nick Stevens
In a few sentences, summarise your role
My Role primarily is to Design and Develop innovative technology in the IoT (internet of Things) for control and management of Residential, Office and Commercial Property. To research emerging trends in technology that can benefit efficiency of building in terms of management and energy saving. To have meetings with Clients and Consultant Engineers to design and integrate our technology solutions in their Building Designs.

What does a typical day look like for you at work?
A typical day currently is designing and developing the new products and systems for the GET Dynamic division. This includes writing coding and pressure testing the hardware and software. I am fortunate to have a dedicated spaces at home to enable me to be very productive, I have been “remote working” for over 20 years.

What’s the best thing about working at Dynamic?
I would say working with positive passionate people, we are focused on “getting things done” with everyone pushing in the same direction. The Dynamic culture is open and friendly, with everyone in the business “point of view” valued.

What is the most difficult challenge you have been faced with in your career?
In my varied career which has included working as a Military Contractor and Security Specialist. Working in this environment pushes you and your specialist knowledge, getting things wrong can have an impact on lives and assets. Working with mission critical systems gives you a very different perspective on the resilience and reliability in the design. This “mindset” has remained with me in the way I assess everything in my working life.

What’s your favourite project you have worked on?
This is a very difficult to answer as there are many, all I can say is that is is such a good feeling to be part of a delivery team on large projects. When you see these buildings and projects finished you forget all the tough challenges  through the construction and focus on the end result. Then you start on your next challenge!

What would you say to anyone who was considering applying for a job at Dynamic?
I would say to them that when we say “the customer comes first” we mean it, also attitude is everything, you need to be positive in everything you do. Also, If you need help or support, ask, the Senior Management Team or your Line Manager. Working with Dynamic you are part of a Team and we want you to succeed!

How do you like to recharge or take a break?
I am fortunate to live near the Derbyshire Peak District and enjoy cycling and hiking as much as possible in this beautiful area. I and my family living in the “centre” of the UK do need to visit the coastal areas at least twice a year. Our favourite destination is Bournemouth.

The MBO provides for a simplification of the Board structure to allow for its continued accelerated growth strategy. The additional investment secured through Kingland Capital provides a significant fund for the Management Team to hire likeminded industry professionals in-line with its hiring plan and also acquire complimentary Cloud Managed Service Providers as they continue their objective to be one of the fastest growing MSP’s in the UK with a strong reputation for quality service.
