This month we’re finding out more about Chris Harrision, our Technical Manager for our Global Estate Technology divison GET Dynamic

In the spotlight - Chris Harrison
In a few sentences, summarise your role
As I have been at Dynamic for several years so find that I am the go-to guy for any technical questions or advice. I pick up any of the non-standard jobs and find ways to deliver them hopefully surpassing the client’s expectations and providing ongoing support.

What does a typical day look like for you at work?
I don’t have “typical” days at work, no one day is the same as the next. Managing, Designing, Researching and Developing are all day to day roles.

How has your career progressed at Dynamic?
My Career at Dynamic has moved a long way from where I ever imagined I would progress to. In 5 years, I have gone from being a professional electrician who had interests in various technologies to being a designer and implementer of cutting-edge systems that impact our day to day lives.

What’s the best thing about working at Dynamic?
The best thing I have found is the opportunity that I have been given to learn and develop my skills and in return drive the business forward. Effort is directly related to reward.

What’s your favourite piece of tech at the moment?
For years I have been fascinated with Drones, not just what they can do and the ways which they can improve our lives, but the engineering that goes into the hardware and software which keeps them in the air.
I think they’re a great example of how different technical disciplines can come together as a team and produce a great product in a relatively short amount of time.

What’s your favourite project you have worked on and why?
My favourite project to date is one we are currently working on, Our Division GET Dynamic are using all that we have learnt from years of experience in Electrical, Networks, Automation and software engineering to build and develop a cutting edge product that has the potential to change the landscape of the home automation market.
I’ll leave it there...

How do you like to recharge or take a break?
My “down” time consists generally of Projects on the house, mainly automating everything in sight (I recently automated a bath!). Projects on cars, I’m sure in another life I would be a racing driver and Flying Drones is always something that I have enjoyed.

Dynamic Insights & advice

Dynamic Networks completes a Management Buyout and commences its acquisition strategy.

"David Smith (CEO) and Gareth Leece (COO) have successfully completed an MBO of Dynamic Networks, working with Paul Landsman of Kingland Capital. The MBO provides for a simplification of the Board structure to allow for its continued accelerated growth strategy. The additional investment secured through Kingland Capital provides a significant fund for the Management Team to hire likeminded industry professionals in-line with its hiring plan and also acquire complimentary Cloud Managed Service Providers as they continue their objective to be one of the fastest growing MSP’s in the UK with a strong reputation for quality service. Further announcements to follow."
